My Son's Faux Castle Wall -note there is no texture on this wall, texture might even have made it look better.
Step 1 Paint the Base Color- I choose the color for the whole room. Then Draw your lines with a level. Your stones can be any size, I really stressed about this but do something in proportion to the room size.
Step 2 Tape over your lines with .25in tape. I used tape for painting cars because I could not find the size in the blue painters tape. Also tape off the other areas that you don't want to get paint on.
Step 3- Sea Sponge the whole wall any color 2 shades lighter or darker depending on the look you want.
Step 4- Do another layer of sponging same color
Step 5- Take off tape
Step 6- The tape lines were too perfect so I took a small paint brush and wiggled over the tape lines with the base paint. Then wiped over every wiggle with cheese cloth. You can't mess it up, I really felt like the more I was messing it up the better it looked. Ok so I felt like the color I choose for sponging was too light so... I watered down the base color alot then wet down another clean sea sponge and washed the watered down base color over the whole wall. It added alot of warmth to the whole wall.
